Areas of Practice

The physiotherapists at Comox Physiotherapy Clinic all have a strong background in manual therapy practice. Skilled “hands on” treatments by highly trained therapists help your body to recover more quickly by increasing joint range of motion, mobilizing soft tissues and joints, alleviating pain, and reducing inflammation and swelling.

Comox Physiotherapy Clinic offers a wide range of traditional and effective treatment options such as - Laser Therapy, Ultrasound Therapy, Electrical Modalities, and Kinesiotaping/Sports Taping. Specific Exercise Prescription - both for home exercises and using our state of the art equipment in the clinic - are likely to be a part of your treatment experience.

Our physiotherapists are constantly improving their understanding of the body and the range of treatment options that they can provide. We are pleased to have the following specialty areas of practice offered at Comox Physiotherapy Clinic:

Pelvic floor physiotherapy, incontinence, manual therapy, post partum fitness, pre-natal care, running biomechanics, cycling analysis, cranio-sacral therapy, acupuncture, IMS.

Acupuncture / IMS / Trigger Point Dry Needling

Acupuncture is a therapeutic method used to encourage natural healing, reduce or relieve pain, and improve function of affected areas of the body.

BREAST CANCER THERAPY POST SURGERY

Physiotherapy has an important role in breast cancer recovery. “Reach Your Full Potential” treatment and education is offered at our clinic with Shannon Lawrence.

CRANIOSACRAL THERAPY

Craniosacral therapy was developed in the past century by osteopathic physicians in the USA and is now performed by many practitioners including physiotherapists.

VESTIBULAR REHABILITATION

Balance problems affect approximately 50% of all adults at some time. We are specifically trained to treat dizziness and balance issues including BPPV (benign paroxysmal positional vertigo).

VISCERAL MANIPULATION

Visceral Manipulation is a gentle therapy to encourage mobility and consists of specifically placed manual force that encourages normal mobility, tone, and inherent tissue motion of the abdominal organs and the connective tissue that attaches to other areas of the body where physiologic motion has been impaired (for example, the lumbar spine and sacroiliac joint).
