Costs, Rates and Fees

Rates Vary Depending On Your Coverage

Question: How much will it cost?
Answer: This varies depending on your coverage and these prices take effect on January 1st, 2010. Prices are not official.

MSP (Medical Services Plan of B.C.) Coverage: As of January 1st, 2002, there is no coverage for physiotherapy under the B.C. Medical Plan except for those with EXEMPT STATUS medical. Here are regular MSP fees:

$20.00 for your first visit
$15.00 for a regular visit
$20.00 for a cranial visit
$20.00 for a prolonged visit

Private Coverage:

$60.00 for your first visit
$45.00 for each subsequent visit
$60.00 for a prolonged visit (includes double the therapist's one-on-one time) and is used for:
- assessment of a new area
- when you haven't been in for at least four months
- longer time needed - ie. to go over an exercise program
- cranial appointments
- more than one area being treated in the same visit

Extended Health Plan:

A physician's referral may be required

Acupuncture:

$65.00 for your first acupuncture visit
$50.00 for each subsequent visit
$65.00 if the treatment is combined with physiotherapy

Craniosacral Therapy:

$60.00 per visit

WorkSafe BC:

There is no fee if you are covered by WorkSafe BC
If WorkSafe BC does not cover you, then the MSP or PRIVATE rates apply

RCMP/DND:

A physician's referral is not required for an RCMP member (allowed up to 25 visits per year)
A Base Hospital referral is required for a DND member

ICBC:

$20.00 per treatment
a physician's referral is required

DVA:

If the patient qualifies, DVA will pay up to $800.00 for physiotherapy and up to $500.00 for acupuncture
A physician's referral is required
